November 1, 2004 - Early Voting for 2004 General Election
Nearly 30,000 voters chose to cast their ballot early for the November 2, 2004 General Election. A record number of mail-in ballots, coupled with the early voting total, gave Pasco County a voter turnout of nearly 24% prior to Election Day. Pasco County finished the election with 72.15%, the highest voter turnout since 1992.


October 18, 2004 - Early Voting for 2004 General Election
Early Voting for the November 2, 2004 General Election began October 18, 2004. Voters can cast their ballot early until November 1, 2004.


October 11, 2004 - Public Test of iVotronic Voting Equipment
The Public Test of the iVotronic Voting equipment to be used in the General Election on November 2, 2004 was conducted at 2:00 p.m. at the Supervisor of Elections' Election Support Center in Dade City. Many visitors and news media attended the test, including
Secretay of State, Glenda Hood.


August 25, 2004 - Pollworkers Prepare for the Primary Election
On August 25, 2004, Mr. Browning held one of many Pasco Pollworker Training Sessions for the Primary Election on August 31, 2004.


July 19, 2004 - 2004 Candidate Workshop
The candidate workshop, attended by qualified candidates or their representative, was held on Monday, July 19, 2004 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The workshop was designed to answer questions and provide information for their 2004 campaigns. Mr. Browning reviewed election laws, campaign finance, and electronic filing.


June 25, 2004 - Media Day
The Pasco County Supervisor of Elections staged a workshop for media on Friday, June 25th at the Election Support Center in
Dade City. The presentation and mock election offered an in-depth look at the iVotronic voting system. The media witnessed
first-hand the elections process including the opening and closing of the polls, voting on the iVotronics, ballot tabulation
and the verification of vote totals.


May 25, 2004 - Get Out The Vote Foundation's Kick-off
Kurt Browning joined other bay area supervisors for the Get Out The Vote Foundation's Kick-off on Tuesday, May 25th at the
Robert L. Gilder Elections Service Center in Hillsborough County. The Pasco County Supervisor of Elections office, in
conjunction with the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections, will be facilitating voter registration for
Pasco County residents through the Get Out The Vote Foundation's efforts. This campaign will focus on voter registration,

February 16, 2004 - February 22, 2004 - Pasco County Fair
The Supervisor of Elections office won First Prize for their booth at the Pasco County Fair. This year's theme was "Udderly Unique."
Elections Office volunteers were available at the fairgrounds for iVotronic demonstrations and to accept voter registrations


February 14, 2004 - Mandatory Overview Pollworker Sessions
On February 14, 2004, one of five Mandatory Overview Pollworker Sessions was held at Pasco Hernando Community College.
All pollworkers must attend a session to cover sensitivity training, conflict management, and election day basics.


February 6, 2004 - Declaration of Independce Tour
The Declaration of Independence came to Pasco County on February 6, 2004. The historical document was on display at River
Ridge Middle/High School. The Secretary of State, several elected officials and hundreds of citizens from around the state
participated in a brief ceremony and took advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
