November 5, 2008 - Write-In Tally Boards

After the election, teams were assembled to sort ballots out by precinct in preparation for the post-election audit and to manually tablulate write-in votes.

 

September 17, 2008 - Mass Mailing of Absentee Ballots

On September 17, 2008, the Elections’ Office mailed out the first lot of General Election absentee ballots.

 

August 29, 2008 - Recount - 6th Judicial Circuit Race

The Primary Election race for Circuit Judge, 6th Circuit, Group 6, which encompasses both Pasco and Pinellas Counties, necessitated a recount when the combined unofficial returns narrowly showed Mary Hansel in the lead by one- half of one percent or less. The recount began in both counties at 6:00 p.m. the Friday after the election. Pasco County concluded approximately 2:00 a.m.

 

 

August 26, 2008 - Primary Election Phone Bank

On election day, the phone bank staff fields calls from pollworkers at the precincts.

 

June 23, 2008 - 2008 Primary/General Candidate Workshop

Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley addresses special district and county candidates along with their treasurers at a Candidate’s Workshop held in New Port Richey at the West Pasco Government Center in the Board of County Commissioners Meeting Room.

May 13, 2008 - Secretary of State visits Pasco

Supervisor Corley and staff met with Secretary of State Browning and his staff to review Pasco County’s education plan.

 

February 19, 2008 - San Antonio Rotary Presentation

Brian Corley, Pasco County Supervisor of Elections, presented the San Antonio Rotary club with a check for "adopting" a precinct on Election Day. The Rotary club had members staff a precinct for the Presidential Preference Primary held on January 29, 2008.

 

February 19, 2008 - Municipal Candidate Workshop

Brian Corley, Pasco County Supervisor of Elections, addressed Municipal Election candidates at the Municipal Candidates Workshop. The workshop provided information regarding campaign finance and general election administration information to candidates, treasurers and campaign workers.

 

February 18, 2008 - February 24, 2008 - Pasco County Fair Booth

For the sixth year in a row, the elections office won first-place at the Pasco County Fair for “Best Commercial Exhibit Depicting Fair Theme”. This year the fair association chose "Rock Around the Stock" as the theme.

 

 

January 24, 2008 - City Clerks Meeting

Supervisor of Elections, Brian Corley, met with the city clerks and their staff on January 24, 2008 at the David "Hap" Clark Professional Building in Land O' Lakes. The meeting was geared toward preparing the clerks for the upcoming municipal elections to be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008.

 

January 2008 - Pollworkers Prepare for Presidential Preference

Supervisor of Elections, Brian Corley, addressed pollworkers during the pollworker training sessions that began in early January. Pollworker are required by law to attend training classes prior to working an election. The Pasco County Supervisor of Elections’ office conducted over 40 trainings in an effort to prepare pollworkers for the Presidential Preference Primary on January 29, 2008.
